I wanted to give a quick update on the products I’ve been using that are actually working for me. I’ve been having problems with cystic acne for the past four years. Diet has been the key factor in keeping it at bay but skincare and exercise are right there with it.
Okay so here is my skin on the left from three years ago post antibiotics and strong treatment gels from the dermatologist. I always wore makeup because of how RED the scarring was. Before the acne was under control my face was covered in hard big acne, I actually have almost zero pictures of myself during that time because of how self conscious I was. The right picture is my skin now with no makeup.
Also thankful sooooo for eyebrow tinting!
Alright so here is what I’m using on the scaring and to keep the acne from coming back. For the most part I’m trying to keep it as simple as possible. I feel like my skin was acting out around the holidays this past year because I was overloading it with different products.
- Face Wash: Sea Foam Complete Face Wash
I use this twice, first on a dry face to remove my makeup, next on my Clarisonic Mia 2 wet.
2. Toner: Glossier Solution
I use this at night only. In the morning I use a toner I make with chamomile and lavender tea, green tea and rose water.
3. Moisterizer: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
I use the grapefruit scent. Its so refreshing!
4. Spot Treatment: Origins Super Spot Remover
This spot treatment is magic. All the stores around me have been sold out for a couple of weeks now so I’ve been using the Mario Badescu drying lotion but it totally doesn’t compare. The origins is clear too so I can wear it under makeup.
That’s my daily routine! Combined with a dairy free, gluten free and mostly vegan diet, a lot of water and exercising at least five times a week my skin has been staying mostly clear. When I do break out its usually right after I eat something I know I shouldn’t or when i’m the most hormonal. The origins gel has been my life saver during that!
Maybe these products will help you or maybe not, everybody’s skin is different. Just keep trying to find what works for you!
All my love,
